The participant is committed to:

Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Several squares of regulated parking (blue zone) area occupied in a central street of the city
Implementing one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
Permanent measures implemented this year:
New or improved bicycle facilities
  • Improvement of bicycle network (creation of new lanes, extension, renovation, signposting etc)
  • Create or enlarge pedestrian streets
Public transport services
  • Improvement and extension of the public transport services (express services, increase frequency etc)
Mobility management
  • Adoption of school travel plans
  • Permanent access restriction to city centres
More details on permanent measures:

- Creates a new track bike which will link the municipality of Eivissa with the San Jose
- Shuttle service from dissuasori parking to the Centre of the city with free city tour
- Implementing new control system of restricted access to two neighborhoods in the city ( La Marina and Dalt Vila)
- redistribution of the traffic as a complementary measure to the pedestrianisation of the city centre
