Detailed description (English): PARKLET 2 GO is an urbanistic tool for testing, evaluating and discussing the transformation of specific (parking) spaces in an effective and informal way. PARKLET 2 GO is used for the temporary installation in parking lots and public spaces in general. The aim of PARKLET 2 GO is to carry out various spatial experiments and activating interventions in public space.
The PARKLET 2 GO offers the possibility to create a temporary "parklet" (=mini-park) at different locations of a city within a very short time and with little effort. In addition to its function as a meeting and recreation place, it should also become a stage for a public and spontaneous discourse on public spaces. The PARKLET 2 GO was designed for the conversion of a car park, but due to its modular character it also offers the possibility of playing with other urban spaces, both smaller and larger (squares, niches, meeting zones, etc.).
PARKLET 2 GO is a pop-up parklet. As a "mobile furniture ensemble" it consists of two benches for 2-3 persons each, a table, three flower beds and a plant container with a resilient city tree. The design of the furniture makes it possible to load it onto a bicycle trailer in just a few simple steps. In contrast to permanently installed Parklets or a Schanigarten, the PARKLET 2 GO can be set up and dismantled very quickly. The possibility of transport by bicycle and the extremely compact storage offer the advantage of a flexible overall package, which enables the effective implementation of spontaneous actions.
Target group(s): decision makers, local activists, general public, international mobility peers
