Detailed description (English): Association of Engineers of Transportation and Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation and with the support of the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, on 22.09.2016. in Sarajevo have organized the Car-Free Day. That day in the central part of the city of Sarajevo with the support of the police and the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, one street was closed for traffic during the 24 hours. On that location, the organiser has promoted importance of smart and sustainable mobility. During this occasion the organiser has shared promotional brochures. Representatives of the Ministry of Transport and city authorities have signed the EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK Charter and to support implementation of activities in order to develop and improvement of sustainable mobility.
Target group(s): Traffic participants of Sarajevo city.
Increasing awareness of traffic participants about the importance of smart and sustainable mobility in order to increase better conditions in traffic environment.
Objectives: Increase awareness of traffic participants; reduction of air pollution; road traffic noise reduction; reduce traffic congestion; reduce traffic accidents.
Expected Outcomes: 300 participants on location of the event; 3000 members joined in public group UISKBH; Web portals; TV programs.
