Organising a week of activities, taking into account the focal theme.
This event aims at promoting local policies, initiatives and best practices related to sustainable urban mobility. It also aims at raising awareness about the downside of certain tendencies in urban mobility, namely the negative impact on the environment and the quality of life. In this frame of reference, all participants in city traffic are invited to take part in a European-level campaign.
A special emphasis is placed on the local sustainable urban transport policies, especially on launching long-term policies and adopting permanent measures in this respect.
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
