Actions relative to the theme:

11. Informational stand for consultation on energy-efficient modes of transport in urban areas
12. Lottery with questions related to EMW and public transport
13. Test ride bikes, provided by bicycle producers.
14. Interactive educational outdoor play “Tale of the road”.
15. Presentation of First Aid – National Training Centre of Bulgarian Red Cross
16. Sports games and entertainment (badminton/rugby, etc.)
17. Bike competition for children
18. Workshop/demonstration of maintenance and repair of bicycles.
19. Outdoor Yoga, Taijiquan and Tango classes

21. Screening of educational movie and discussion with teenagers/beginner drivers on the traffic safety and risks of driving vehicles.
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
1. Square Knyaz Alexander I and the area within the boundaries of Alexander Dondukov Blvd., 11 Avgust Str., Vrabcha Str., Vasil Levski Blvd., Aksakov Str., 6 Septemvri Str., Gen. Gurko Str., Lege Str., Positano Str., Vitosha Blvd. will be closed on 22 September for motorized vehicles from 9.00 to 17.00 h. And mobile laboratory for air quality control will be located within the above mentioned area.

2. Gen. Gurko Str. will be closed on 22 September for motorized vehicles in the area between Vasil Levski Blvd. and Evlogi Georgiev Blvd. in order to be carried out the activities planned for September, 22.
Implementing one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
Permanent measures implemented this year:
New or improved bicycle facilities
  • Improvement of bicycle network (creation of new lanes, extension, renovation, signposting etc)
