Participation 2010

The participant is committed to:

Organising a week of activities, taking into account the focal theme.
Actions relative to the theme:
With the aim to emphasize healthy movement in the city, we prepare a number of activities focused on walking in the city and inline skating which is popular especially among young generation.
There will be organized series of inline skates city rides, accompanied with inline skates courses. For all age groups there will be many activities aimed at walking, such as Nordic Walking courses, guided tours in city parks, followed by exercises in new fitpark and walks with open air music performance.
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The main activity will be the inline skates city ride in the streets commonly used by cars, including the closure of the area around the shopping centre. In zones restricted to cars round the shopping centre there will be all-day programme that includes presentations of alternative modes of transport, such as electric bicycles, segways and for young generation scooters, skateboards, jumping stilts and waveboards.
