Participation 2010

The participant is committed to:

Organising a week of activities, taking into account the focal theme.
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Da lunedì 20 settembre 2010 e fino al termine dell’anno scolastico sarà ripristinato il piano di limitazione al traffico in prossimità della scuola primaria “A.L. Moro” di San Vito, come prescritto dalla Delibera di Giunta Comunale n. 171 dell’01.09.2008.
Nei seguenti giorni e orari (da lunedì a venerdì dalle ore 07.30 alle ore 08.15; lunedì dalle 15.45 alle ore 16.30; martedì e mercoledì dalle ore 12.45 alle ore 13.15 e dalle ore 16.00 alle ore 16.30; giovedì e venerdì dalle ore 12.30 alle ore 13.15 e dalle ore 16.00 alle ore 16.30) i genitori o gli accompagnatori che condurranno i bambini a scuola in auto potranno sostare gratuitamente nei parcheggi limitrofi all’edificio scolastico di San Vito capoluogo utilizzando l’apposito “permesso di sosta gratuito in aree a pagamento” rilasciato da codesta Amministrazione comunale.

Permanent measures implemented this year:
Pedestrianisation
  • Create or enlarge pedestrian streets
  • Improvement of infrastructure (new foot bridges, pavements, road crossings, zebra crossings etc)

  • Use of ecological vehicles for public transport fleets
Traffic calming and access control scheme
  • New traffic regulations: traffic circulation and parking

  • Enlargement of pavements
  • Elaboration of sound devices in traffic lights
