Participation 2012

The participant is committed to:

Organising a week of activities, taking into account the focal theme.
Actions relative to the theme:
In order to invite the citizens to come into town without their car, we have organized actions like road closure, festival, special promotions to the sustainable mobility services and other events. On sunday 16 September was held a bicycle ride, organized by FIAB, in the central area of the town and a sweet present was given to all participants. During the week was delivered to the citizen the “Decalogue of the cyclist” containing the main rules to avoid traffic conflicts with cars and pedestrians. There will also be conferences regarding road safety and the importance to use the bike. Infomobility promotes the use of bike sharing with special discount for the new subscribers and also a special discount of 50% for the persons who decide to subscribe at car sharing service.
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
All the central area of the town is a restricted zone to the traffic. The access is limited only to the residents and the authorized dealers all days from 7:30 until 20:30. This area is controlled by the electronic control system and by the municipal police. There are also the "zone 30" that limit the speed of traffic and environmental islands, off-limits to traffic, in which they may pass only emergency vehicles and
