Participation 2016

The participant is committed to:

Organising a week of activities, taking into account the focal theme.
Actions relative to the theme:
1. Alba Iulia Municipality is supporting the Alba Local Energy Asociation (ALEA) in organising the second edition of the event „Renewable energy Sources ALEA 2016 - Equipment and Complete Solutions Fair”, which will take place at Alba Mall, between September 17th – 18th, 2016. The exhibition will include solar thermal panels, photovoltaic panels, heat pumps, heating electromagnetic systems, turbines for small hydroelectric power stations, biomass boilers, wind turbines and many other applications related to energy obtained from renewable sources. Once again this year, special attention will be paid to sustainable transport, by exhibiting electric cars and bicicles. As an absolute novelty, visitors will also be able to visit Ecodom – the future’s house.

2. In collaboration with the Association "Energy Cities Romania", Alba Iulia Municipality is organizing the competition "OSCAR, THE WANDERER SNAKE" from September 19th to 30th 2016 – a Romanian version of the campaign „Traffic Snake Game (TSG)”. This initiative was created in order to encourage students, parents and teachers to walk, cycle or use public transport when going to school. The campaign simultaneously takes place 20 European countries and, after running for two years in Romania, it ranked on the first place in our country regarding the number of participating schools and the savings achieved for fuels and CO2 emissions. Within Alba Iulia Municipality, the results of the previous edition were the following: 4 participating schools, 860 students enrolled in the competition, 5119 km which were no longer made by car and approximately 880 kg of less CO2 emissions. This year we expect the results to be even more spectacular.
