Over the last six years Sligo has introduced cycle infrastructure in association with Active Travel Towns. These include individual projects on Pearse Road, Finisklin Road, Strandhill Road, Cleaveragh Road, Hazelwood Road, Ballytivnan Road, The Mall and First Sea Road. Sligo is also committed to providing cycle facilities on proposed new routes including the Eastern Garavogue Bridge and Western Distributor Road. This work gets the cyclist into the core of Sligo City where it is envisaged to continue the improvement of the shared space in the City Centre.
For European Mobility Week, we will be launching our new website promoting a more Active Sligo and showcase the beautiful cycles available around our city.
