The participant is committed to:

Organising a week of activities, taking into account the focal theme.
16 September
140 students aged 7 to 10 and 9 teachers from 2 schools of Ramnicu Valcea will take part in a new edition of the mobility project Traffic Snake Game. For 2 weeks, starting from 21st of September, the children and their teachers will go to school by foot, by bike or will take the public transport in order to save important CO2 emissions in town.
17 September
Preparing the schools involved in the Traffic Snake Game project. Zoom meeting with the national coordinator (Energy Cities Romania), the local coordinator (Municipality of Ramnicu Valcea) and the school coordinators (teachers).

Permanent measures implemented this year:

  • Develop public bicycle hiring and sharing systems
Pedestrianisation
  • Extension or creation of new greenways
Public transport services
  • Improvement and extension of the public transport services (express services, increase frequency etc)
  • Use of ecological vehicles for public transport fleets
New forms of vehicle use and ownership
  • Use of clean vehicles
  • Charging points for electric vehicles
Mobility management
  • Launch of awareness-raising campaigns
  • Elaboration of educational materials
Participation in related EU initiatives:
  • The Covenant of Mayors (as signatory)
