Participation 2015

Activities within the week Activities within the week

Pinto organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2015, taking into account the annual theme.

Permanent measures Permanent measures

Pinto implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.

New or improved bicycle facilities
Improvement of bicycle network (creation of new lanes, extension, renovation, signposting etc)
Pedestrianisation
Create or enlarge pedestrian streets
Further info
As a permanent measure, a new pedestrian/bicycle area has been created: the “Camino de San Antón” street.
This is a very important measure towards the pedestrian and bike-path connection of the two halves of the city which are currently divided by the E-5, a European Network road which crosses Spain north to south.
Opening this pedestrian and bicycle path is also the first step to a future connection of the city centre and the Regional Park of the South East, including the Cañada Real Galiana, one of the main transhumance pathways in Spain.

Car-free day Car-free day

Pinto carries out a Car-Free Day 2015 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
