Sveitarfélagið Garður organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2010, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
Information leaflet to all homes in Garður where the week is advertised and good advice is given to the inhabitants concerning the theme.

Bus travel made easier by improving bus stops and making them more comfortable for bus users. Improving the busses tavel plan by adding new trips to the plan.

Students in school and kindergarden will participate in the week and exhibit their projects around town.

A scheduke of walks and fun outdoor activities, where healthy living and travel is the main theme, will be planned and advertised .

Car-free day Car-free day

Sveitarfélagið Garður carries out a Car-Free Day 2010 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
On the ,,In town without my car day,, the car park of the kindergarden will be closed for cars. Kids and staff will bring their bikes and use the car park for biking.
