Reykjavik organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2012, taking into account the annual theme.

Emphasizing the good progress we have made the last years, by collect all data regarding cycling and more cycling routs. Increase in public transport and more emphasis on public transport in all planning, like laying more lanes specific for public transport and giving way in traffic lights for public transport.

Reykjavik implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.

New or improved bicycle facilities
Improvement of bicycle network (creation of new lanes, extension, renovation, signposting etc)

We are working on some of these improvements, and have already done alot.

Car-free day Car-free day

Reykjavik carries out a Car-Free Day 2012 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
