Bucks CC, Aylesbury organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2006, taking into account the annual theme.
All week
Our week long programme of activities has climate change at the core and starts with the Travel Choice Festival! Promoting all modes of transport and highlighting Aylesburys Cycling Demonstration Town Status which has enabled us to invest in cycling within the town and really increase our numbers of cyclists.
Throughout the rest of European Mobility week we will look at each of the alternative modes of transport and how increased use will be a positive step to dealing with climate change.

We will show how single occupancy car use is causing long lasting damaging effects on the environment and that there are other viable modes which we can use instead.
We are involving our Bike It Schools and raising their awareness of making smart travel choices because of climate change
Permanent measures
Bucks CC, Aylesbury implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
Car-free day
Bucks CC, Aylesbury carries out a Car-Free Day 2006 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Car Free Day Road Closure at Wendover Road in Bourne End, with Street party at Claytons Combined School who have recently developed their school travel plan. We will be launching two new zebra crossing at this event.
