Car-free day
Helsinki carries out a Car-Free Day 2007 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Restricted area for traffic in the CBD
from 9 am to 8 pm
no through traffic
no on-street parking
driving to parking garages (2) allowed
deliveries and service traffic allowed
