Targu Frumos organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2008, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
In this year Iasi City Hall develops in partnership with Civic Attitude Association EuroDEMOS, Kasta Morrely Association and Agency for Environment Protection Iasi the project “Youth involved in the European Mobility Week”. The project has as purpose the offering of a model of good practice at European level of organizing the European Mobility Week 2008 in Iasi. This project has been funded with support from the European Commission through “Youth in Action” Program. The City Hall of Iasi is also co-financing this project. We have as participants interested to follow the model of good practice of Iasi in organizing the European Mobility Week, representatives from:
- Torino City Hall – Office of International Exchanges – Italy, Torino
- Foundation for Children of Kamut, Hungary, Kamut
- Semper Avanti, NGO – Poland, Wroclaw
- Youth and Civil Initiatives in the Rose Valley, NGO – Bulgaria, Karlovo

Local collaborators:

- Antibiotice Company Iasi
- Representatives of local media

Among the activities developed we mention:
- Organizing the outdoor campaign with the theme „Clean air for all” with international participation
- Developing the media campaign with the theme „Clean air for all”
- Seminar “Actual case of environment in Europe” – in premiere the presentation of the documentary movie with the theme of the seminar
- Seminaries of presentation having as purpose the creation of an exchange of experience and information regarding the important issues of environment and especially the case of air in the countries represented at the project: Italy, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania
- Developing an open air public event: defiling with the participation of the 35 participants at the project with placard with messages related to the theme “Clean air for all”, mascots made by recycling materials within the perimeter closed for the cars in Iasi, conceiving drawings on asphalt
- Organizing a contest of turistic orientation
- Developing a parade of cyclists
- Campaign of promoting a sustenable transportation within Antibiotice Company Iasi for its employees to use as fewer as possible personal cars to go to work.
- On 22nd of Sepetmber the organization of a public eco-event with international participation „In town without my car” which will include: presentation of the project results, exhibition of photos, drawings, mascots from recycling materials, presentation of fashion collection from recycling materials, theatre on environment theme.

Car-free day Car-free day

Targu Frumos carries out a Car-Free Day 2008 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

the Historical Center of the City of Iasi (like previous year), about 40 ha
