Győr organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2008, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
We are organiseing many programms promoting "less private car use and use other alternative method e.g.:bike or carpooling or carsharing, public transport etc.
Very important target groups are the people, whom are working in the business parks more the 10 000 people and people and children, whom are moveing from the suburbs and from the neighobour villages to the center on a daily basis.
We are organising one car free day wit a bicycle procession and we make some new car free streets.

Car-free day Car-free day

Győr carries out a Car-Free Day 2008 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
We have one long shopping street, called Baross str. crossed by car traffic right now, but we would like to stop the cross traffic here.
