County Galway organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2008, taking into account the annual theme.

‘The Route to Sustainable Mobility & Clean Air for All’ - Opening of a week long exhibition at Áras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway, providing a wealth of practical and easy-to-do tips on changing your travel habits, reducing your carbon footprint and outlining the many dimensions of climate change.

Sustainable Mobility Information Point – An information point providing details including timetables for all the main public transport routes in the County.

Carbon Emission Flyer explaining the CO2 emission bands and giving some typical examples of well known cars together with a Motoring Tips Wheel.

‘Tyre Therapy – Pump Up & Cut Down’ - Galway County Council and tyre dealers throughout County Galway are teaming up to provide members of the public with free tyre checks and professional advice on tyre maintenance during European Mobility Week.

‘Bulb Plantathon’ – A community event to enhance public green spaces, walking routes and cycle trails through a Community Bulb Planting Initiative.

Health Checks - Health Checks highlighting the health benefits of sustainable forms of travel.

‘Living Streets’ – The closure of Dublin Road, Tuam to facilitate the creation of a pedestrian friendly social space for a series of novel and innovative community events based on the theme of Sustainable Mobility and Clear Air for All.
