Tromsø organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2009, taking into account the annual theme.

Traffic restrictions in the city centre Sept 19 and 22.
Presentation of the municipality's work on environment.
Activities showing how central streets could be used when no car traffic.

Car-free day Car-free day

Tromsø carries out a Car-Free Day 2009 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Main street "Grönnegata"
Streets around Strandtorget market (will not be opened again after Sept 19 !)
Sjögata oneway road will be closed for other transport than busses.
