Koprivnica organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2009, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
A day of activities promoting climate change prevention and mitigation measures ( September 16)
Taking individual EMW Pledge for changing mobility behaviour patterns for a week, in favour of sustainable means ( walking, cycling, public transport)
Active promotion of sustainable transport means - all days of the week
Closing a part of the city to motorized vehicles for the whole week
( afternoon hours)
Closing a larger part of city centre to motorized vehicles for one whole day ( 22. September)
Introducing traffic calming measures for a testing period of time

Koprivnica implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.

Car-free day Car-free day

Koprivnica carries out a Car-Free Day 2009 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Wider city centre in which a large part is already pedestrianized. Additions to this calm area will be tested during a week of activities. Two additional streets will be turned into one-way streets in order to calm down the traffic in the larger area leading from the central town square towards the hospital, a school and the main city's recreation area.
