Activities within the week Activities within the week

Biograd na Moru organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2009, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
Considering the fact that better climate in town and series of actions regarding it, cannot be implemented in the town over night, we have decided to focus most of our activities primarily on children in this town (including their parents, as well), hoping that we can raise awareness of people regarding their health and safety while staying or living in the City of Biograd na Moru. The main action aims at educating children about traffic regulations and behavior in the street that relates to lectures of the traffic policeman for the lower grades in the primary school in Biograd. Students in higher grades are involved in journalistic work - they have to make a survey about the public opinion regarding the traffic and people`s safety and to ask the Mayor the questions during the Radio BnM direct broadcasting that were written by the citizens and put in the VOX POPULI BOX. Kindergarten from Biograd is also involved in the action and children will make their drawings and other creative work regarding the theme and all of which will be displayed in the center of the city at the small children`s exhibition. Children end their activities with a music parade and slogans, all dressed in white and with a main sign - "Biograd na Moru - White City", regarding its cleanliness and healthy life without polluted air. There will also be a dance show pointing out that it is much better to move, to dance, to walk, to use the body, rather than machines, in order to do something or to go somewhere.
Other citizens will be able to get a free bicycle repair and small tokens of appreciation (for instance, mobile phones bands) if they use a bicycle in the hours when the city promenade is closed for other traffic (every day from 15:00-20:00) due to European Mobility Week. The center will be dedicated to the cause, with a display of children works, booths that will promote health (energy efficacy, healthy products, health magazines, display of an old timer bicycle etc.), plants will be planted in order to symbolically increase the oxygen level in the town, sports will take place and bicycle race with an award for the winner- a bicycle that will in the end unite older and younger generation because the reception of the competitors will include older generation walk down the beach and they will all be welcomed with healthy food on the beach- water, fish and vegetables.
