The participant is committed to:

Organising a week of activities, taking into account the focal theme.
Actions relative to the theme:
The program takes into account the focal theme in a number of activities every day of the week and several days before the EMW. There are active promotion activities: organized bicycle rides, organized walks, organized exercises events for children, the disabled and elderly citizens, forums on walking/cycling measures to be taken, promotion of school travel plans, company travel plans/car-pooling scheme, competitions of schoolchildren (Traffic Snake Game) and students ( By bike and on foot through EU)as well as companies (To work without my car). There are exhibitions (Bicycle, Healthy mind in a healthy body, creative workshop - bicycle) and open-air museum in a "liberated" street, concerts, lectures and presentations.
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
On 22 September the immediate city center will be closed to motorized traffic, but this year, the zone will be enlarged by two additional streets (Ulica A. Starcevica and Basaricekova ulica ) in which the construction of new pedestrian paths/cycling tracks will be promoted (cca 500m)
Implementing one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
Permanent measures implemented this year:
New or improved bicycle facilities
  • Improvement of bicycle network (creation of new lanes, extension, renovation, signposting etc)
  • Improvement of bicycle facilities (parking, locks etc)
Pedestrianisation
  • Improvement of infrastructure (new foot bridges, pavements, road crossings, zebra crossings etc)
  • Extension or creation of new greenways
Traffic calming and access control scheme
  • Speed reduction programmes in zones near schools
  • New traffic regulations: traffic circulation and parking
Accessibilities
  • Lowering of pavements
  • Enlargement of pavements
New forms of vehicle use and ownership
  • Launch of online car-pooling and car-sharing schemes
Mobility management
  • Adoption of workplace travel plans
  • Adoption of school travel plans
  • Launch of awareness-raising campaigns
  • Elaboration of educational materials
  • Development of travel plans / mobility plans in consultation with local stakeholders
  • Organisation of regular fora or surveys on public opinions and ideas
