Activities within the week Activities within the week

Helsingborg organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2011, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
- A market that is called "alternative wheels market". It will be a happening on the theme emissions - free travelling. With skateboard- and parkour - shows, music entertainment and an exhibition of electric vehicles (cars, bicyckles, electric motorcykles), bicycles, skateboards, inlines, segway and more to show the different means of travel without emissions.
- A bicykle race (but not a competition) to show the possibilities of cykling in and around helsingborg. It will be three different routes; 10km, 32 km and 80 km to attract as many as possible.
- Lunchcycling with a guide will be provided everey work day of the week, to show helsingborg as it looks today, and how it can be in the future.
- Elders lern how to go by bus, even when disabled. We offer a trip where intrested can get info about and practise on how to go by bus, how to pay, what help you can get from the driver and how the bus stops works.

Car-free day Car-free day

Helsingborg carries out a Car-Free Day 2011 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
We will close a street that is situated in front of a house called Dunkers, that containes museums, art galleries and theatres. That will make the square outside bigger and connected to Dunkers.
