Kyiv organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2012, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
Conference on sustainable urban planning is scheduled on September 21. The event will focus on learning and sharing experience with the cities of Munich and Prague in terms of planning for more sustainable transportation modes. The conference is hosted by the city administration.

Improvement of infrastructure (new foot bridges, pavements, road crossings, zebra crossings etc)

Car-free day Car-free day

Kyiv carries out a Car-Free Day 2012 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
One block in the city center will be closed for car traffic on Saturday, September 22. This space will host:
- crafts workshops
- bicycle workshop by the Kyiv Cyclists' Association
- public discussion on the reconstruction of Kontraktova Sq.
- bicycle ride
- dancing
- live music
- bike rental
- presentations of the planned changes in the transportation system
- cycling coffee-machine
- kids' corner, etc.
