Car-free day Car-free day

Tartu carries out a Car-Free Day 2012 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
22 sept. we organise for one day river tram, we close one main street (Vabaduse pst) for cars. we make this street more narrow. we open half street for public transport and another half we make linear park, where we have many different activities and cafe. we make street space more green (trees and grass)
