Following the policy of annual itinerancy of this initiative adopted by Almada City Council, this year the Car Free Day campaign will take place in Cacilhas Borough, centred in the pedestrianized area recently inaugurated. On the 22nd of September, the Rua Cândido dos Reis, the main artery of the borough, will be closed to traffic from 7h00 to 19h00, with the exception of public transports and electrical or hybrid vehicles. The closed area corresponds to a 250 m long street, with a population of about 400 residents and where 32 commercial shops and establishments are located.
