Activities within the week Activities within the week

Brescia organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2013, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
- Exposition e promotion of the car sharing service;
- leisure activities and musical events held at the new metro stations (start up in March 2013), in order to promote this new mean of public transport in Brescia;
- a cultural event to disseminate the technological system to control the users access to the new metro stations;
- specific initiatives to promote the use of bicycle (for example, the cyclists census, itineraries for cyclists organized in the historical city center)
- in relation to the road safety, meetings in primary schools will be held during this week and a video will be presented in high schools;
- presentation of projects realized by university students, regarding the urban mobility, accessibility and safety;
- targeted events to promote public transport, bicycle and non motorized means of transport in the home-to-work itineraries (for example "Come in University without the car");
- a cultural meeting related to the air quality.

Car-free day Car-free day

Brescia carries out a Car-Free Day 2013 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The historical city center (partially already closed to the private motorized vehicles) will be closed to motorized vehicles during the event, that will be held on September, 22nd (9:00-18:00). During this event, users will be able to travel on local public transports (bus and metro) with only one ticket.
