Activities within the week Activities within the week

Hafnarfjörður organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2014, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
Get citiziens attention by "greening" some parking areas downtown. The areas are grassed and decorated by outside furniture, flowers and flags. If the wheather is good we get some books from the libary and put them on the benches. So its possible to sit down and read some books on the green parking areas. This raises curiosity and people ask questions what we are doing. The point is - we are trying to show what 2 parking areas can make nice spaces in cities. By that we get positive feedback to do the city more friendly to walking and bicycle people instead to use the car.
