Città Metropolitana di Cagliari organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2014, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
The municipality of Cagliari has long tried to improve living conditions in the city through the development of its urban road network, so to make it more in line with the needs of pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Currently, the municipality is involved in:
The extension of its light rail system to connect the two hubs of “Piazza Repubblica” and “Piazza Matteotti” (with this latter one representing the main terminal in Sardinia).
The improvement and extension of its stone paved historic streets, many of which contain some of the most significant city’s art treasures.
The realization of feasibility studies for the creation/extension of green ways along the Poetto’s seaside promenade.
The adoption of a policy based on small, continuous, improvements in the city’s road network.
The environmental movement "Patto dei Sindaci", which has recently approved an “Action Plan for the Sustainable Energy” (APSE) containing a list of strategies to adopt to reach a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2020, as well as advocating policies for sustainable mobility.
