Activities within the week

Padova (Padua) organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2014, taking into account the annual theme.

10-13, 17-20 September

Surveys with questionnaires to selected target groups such as tourists, day visitors, residents, students, office workers, commuters, on the needs of cycling and the use of bike-sharing system, with the goal to develop taylored promotional campaigns on love for cycling and the use of bike sharing. The surveys will take place in Piazzale Stazione, at the Comune's PR Office and at the tourist offices of Padua.

1-22 September

Interviews to local organizations within the central area of the city to detect the needs for cycling and to promote initiatives to increase the use of the bike-sharing service.

19 September

GIRETTO D’ITALIA and BIKE TO WORK/PREMIA IL CICLISTA – in collaboration with Amici della Bicicletta di Padova, FIAB, and Legambiente will be Monitoring bicycles and other motor vehicles transit through 2 roads (t.b.d)...giving a "sweet" reward to those using bycicles

20 September 2014

A day with the Special Guest "Netherlands", with Dutch and Venetian experts and administrators
09.00 hrs - Guided cycle tour organised by Comune di Padova – Mobility and Traffic Dept. with Dutch representatives
11.30 hrs - Opening ceremony with the Presidente of Veneto Region, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Mayor of Padova
15.00 hrs - Round Table on Bycicle and its function for Venetian Municipalities, between Dutch and Venetian experts and administators who will addressthe following issues:
policies for cycle mobility
policies for cycle safety
promtion of Bicycle touring
17.30 hrs - Bicycle ride along the city's streets with the Dutch Cycling Embassy, the Comune di Padova, Dutch authorities, National authorities and journalists of the national press.

1) 12.00 hrs. Padova FAIR, via Niccolò Tommaseo 59 - AWARDING Ceremony of the "THE CHALLENGE OF THE EUROPEAN BIKE 2014" - The challenge between Padua and other European cities to cover the highest amount of kilometers that took place during May 2014

2) All day - Comune di Padova, Mobility Dept. - Bycicle Office

2a) Sustainable Mobility in Padova: the innovative services of bike sharing, car sharing, car pooling.

2b)Special children: WHAT IS sustainable mobility with the Mobility Clown.
10.00-12.00 hrs. and 15.00-17.00 hrs in PIAZZA CAPITANIATO

c) CAMPAIGN AGAINST BICYCLE THEFT "THE BIKE IS MINE AND ANYONE WHO NIKS IT WILL BE IN TROUBLE"
Free of charge labeling service of the tax code on your bike frame, in collaboration with Amici della Bicicletta di Padova.

Car-free day

Padova (Padua) carries out a Car-Free Day 2014 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
