Como organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2015, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
During the European Mobility Week 2015, the municipality of Como will organise activities in line with the focal theme of multimodality, to encourage people to think about the range of transport options available and to choose the right mode of travelling in the urban area:

• an event on 20th September, with the aim to create awareness of the main means of Sustainable Urban Transport (public transport, cycling and walking) in collaboration with local transport Companies (ASF, NLC, Funicolare Como-Brunate, FerrovieNord), the company that manages the P&R parking (CSU), Research Centre on sustainability issues (Està), the Bike Sharing Company (BicinCittà), Local Police Agents, Voluntary Associations that operate to promote the pedestrian and bicycle mobility (Iubilantes, FIAB, Città Possibile, Ciclofficina) and Municipalities of Brunate and Cernobbio;

• launch of permanent measures to improve the use of bicycle in combination with public transport, to make it more attractive:
o opening a safe and sheltered bike parking at the railway station FN Como Borghi;
o extension of the bike sharing service “Bike&CO”;
o restriction motorised traffic, in favour of pedestrians and cyclists, through the local streets in the neighbourhood of Camerlata;

• launch, with the project staff, of the touristic cycle route Olona-Lura, as solution for sustainable fruition of the natural landscape and urban landscape, and bike ride from Cernobbio / Castiglione Olona to Milan.
