Activities within the week Activities within the week

Gjøvik organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2015, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
We will have a focus on commuters and commuter traffic. Gjøvik city is situated longside the biggest lake in Norway (Mjøsa) and we have a lot of commuters travelling to the two neighbor cities Lillehammer and Hamar. We will:
1. Arrange a fast commuter boat on Mjøsa travelling from Hamar to Gjøvik Three days of the mobility week. To bring commuters from the habour to their workplaces we will use Electric bikes, bikes, busses and walking.
2. Test a New communter Express busline directly from Gjøvik to Hamar.
Furthermore we will focus on the use of bicycletransport by arranging happenings for People bicycling to work. We are planning different kind of activities including flasmobs, handing out gifts and more.

Under themobilitweek we will start up a new esxpress service between Gjøvik and Hamar, neighbor city 50 km away.

Car-free day Car-free day

Gjøvik carries out a Car-Free Day 2015 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
On this day we want to Close a street in Gjøvik - one of the activities this day will be for kindergarden children to Paint the "do the right mix"-logo on the street in a large scale.
