Jõgeva implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
New or improved bicycle facilities
Improvement of bicycle network (creation of new lanes, extension, renovation, signposting etc)
Pedestrianisation
Improvement of infrastructure (new foot bridges, pavements, road crossings, zebra crossings etc)

In Jõgeva 2 km of new pedestrian and bicycle roads is under construction this year and will be ready in autumn and one new bicycle parking facility in town centre will be built. In this way we want to encourage people to use more bicycles and train traffic as most convenient and environmental friendly solution in traveling both of biggest cities in Estonia Tallinn and Tartu. These investments are implemented with kind support og EU Cohesion Fund. Also one small street will be changed to one direction traffic only to reduce traffic load there.
Car-free day
Jõgeva carries out a Car-Free Day 2016 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
