Kyiv organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2016, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
The week includes bike tours around the city, Bike to Work Day and Award Ceremony for the Cycling-Friendly Office Contest. On the weekend the city will close a very congested block for traffic and transform it into a pedestrian zone. EMW will be a test and the city hopes to continue the practice for all weekends.

Kyiv implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.

Improvement of bicycle network (creation of new lanes, extension, renovation, signposting etc)

Car-free day Car-free day

Kyiv carries out a Car-Free Day 2016 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Besarabskyi passage and part of Sagaydachnoko St. will be closed for traffic over the weekend.
