Activities within the week Activities within the week

Dunblane organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2016, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
From the 12-25 September Discover Dunblane will be promoting and celebrating sustainable and active travel across the City of Dunblane.

Our two-week program will see our team visit schools, clubs and local groups to educate our community about the benefits of sustainable travel, both for health and finances. We will also train our young people to become competent and safe cyclists, and we will work with them to share their new skills with their peers.

On Sunday 25 September we will have our BIG EVENT, 'Get Active Dunblane'.

This event is YOUR EVENT! It is WHOLLY INCLUSIVE and OPEN TO ALL.

This all day celebration of active and sustainable travel will take place at the football pitch outside Dunblane High School from 10am to 4pm. We will be holding a bike amnesty so if you have some wheels gathering dust in your shed, garage or hallway - bring them along and we'll find your bike a new home. We will also have bikes available for you should you not have a bike of your own. You will also have the chance to try out a variety of different bike types and styles including 'e-bikes' (electric), folding, trikes and adapted bikes. Kciking off the show will be the 'Clan Stunt Team' performing breath taking bike stunts with full running commentary. They will be performing several shows throughout the day. Dr Bike will also be on hand to check over your wheels and to show you the best way to keep your bike safe and ready to use. The fantastic team from Recyke-a-Bike will have their awesome pump track available for you to test your skills - the bike assault course! If you're a creative type, our 'Bling Your Bike' competition is sure to add colour and flair to the event, anything goes! If you want to "get on your bike" then this event is for you, we will have a series of led rides for all abilities taking you around Dunblane and testing your 'Bikeability'.

If you don't have a bike or have never cycled, don't worry - we are here to help you every step of the way. Our team will provide all the equipment necessary for you, your friends, and your family to take part.
