Lentate Sul Seveso organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2016, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
During the week the Municipality is going to start a training and sensibilization campaign about safe and sustainable mobility address to the children of local schools and their families, promoting walking instead of cars. On the 20th of September the Municipality are meeting local families to talk about the effects of walking for health, environment and local economy and we are opening a 3 months training course for schools to explain the importance of walking and cycling and how to do that safely. About 230 children will be envolved with their families and teachers during the activities. At the end a little book about the behaviors to walk safely in going to be printed and distributed to all 4 schools and in public spaces.

Following a study and analysis of road safety and main risks for pedestrians and drivers, we are going to regenerate pedestrian crossings, install modern traffic lights, create new bike lanes and low speed traffic areas. All these action are to let pedestrians walk safely and so to involve walking instead of driving where possible.
