Padova (Padua) organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2016, taking into account the annual theme.

“La mobilità intelligente e sostenibile - un investimento per l'Europa, questo il tema dell’edizione 2016: una pianificazione intelligente e l'uso dei trasporti pubblici può diventare una grande occasione di crescita economica, oltre che fonte di risparmio per le Pubbliche Amministrazioni e i cittadini. Da qui lo slogan “Smart mobility. Strong Economy”

Theme of European Mobility week is: “Intelligent and sustainable mobility - an investment for Europe”. Smart planning and public transport become an opportunity of economic growth for community, for citizens and public administration. Hence “Smart mobility. Strong Economy”, the right slogan for this edition

Presentation of the competition “Raccogliamo miglia verdi”,
Competition for students of primary and secondary schools of First Instance of Padua 3 to 29 October 2016 will challenge in going from home to school and back by sustainable vehicles, as by bycicle and on a foot.

Giretto d’Italia 2016 – 6^ national championship of urban cycling
The Comune di Padova joins the initiative that promotes bike to work/ bike to school, promoted by Legambiente, VeloLove in collaboration with Euromobility.

Comune di Padova staff and Friends of Bicycles Association will be monitoring four pass-through four points of the city, delivering the passers-by a small present:
- Via S. Francesco
- Cavalcavia Borgomagno,
- At the workers entry point of the Companies which will support the initiative (Hospital and University of Padova)

From 10.00 to 18.00 hrs. engine vehicles circulation is banned within the boundaries of the Historical Centre, i.e. the portion of territory marked by the following roads (that will be accessible): barriera Saracinesca, via Cernaia, Porta San Giovanni, via N.Orsini, Porta Savoranola, via Bronzetti, Porta Trento, via Sarpi, viale Codalunga, via Trieste, via Gozzi, ponte Milani, via Morgagni, via Falloppio, via Giustiniani, via Gattamelata, via Gustavo Modena, via Scarsellini, via Manzoni, via Leopardi - section between via Manzoni and via M. Sanmicheli, via Cavazzana, southern side of Prato della Valle, via Cavalletto, via Paoli.

 The access will be permitted to bicycles, taxis, Public Transport and Emergency vehicles and for special cases that will be verified by the Local Police officers (health professionals for medical emergencies, valuables transport, persons with reduced mobility, food, bread and other perishables transport).

 Electric and Low Environmental Impact Vehicles (LPG and CNG) are the only vehicles admitted to circulation within the restricted roads.

 Residents in the restricted area can enter and/or exit until 12.00 hrs.

The ongoing activities to draft the Padua SUMP began in May 2015. The
SUMP will be probably finished by the year.

Car-free day Car-free day

Padova (Padua) carries out a Car-Free Day 2016 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The municipality of Padova have decided to hold the car-free day on Sunday (semptember, 18th), to pomote citizen participation
