Niksic organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2016, taking into account the annual theme.

The Mobility Week is an excellent opportunity to highlight the health, economic and environmental benefits of using sustainable travel modes in our City. Municipality of Niksic has planned promotional activities and awareness-raising campaign during the whole week through media, our website and social networks aiming to promote the core idea 'Smart and sustainable mobility – an investment for Europe'.

Central activity will be during Liberation Day of Niksic City that is annually celebrated on September 18. Walking zone will be established for several hours starting at 10 a.m. at Njegoseva street in the center of the City. Promotional cycling rice will be organized together with Bike club “Perun” and several other clubs. The prizes (bikes) will be provided for the best participants.

Pupils from primary schools “Ratko Zaric”, “Olga Golovic” and “Braca Ribar” will participate in drawing workshops on the walking zone in front of the Department store with music and dance performance; T-shirts with EMW logo for all kids and teachers and also accessories for drawing and refreshments will be ensured.

Children will share EMW educational flyers and posters at the main city streets aiming to popularize smart and sustainable mobility.
UNDP Montenegro and EMW National coordinator will support these activities.

New parking zones were established in the center of the City. Public enterprise “Parking service” was established and started with the work on October 12, 2015. Parking ticket can be paid online, by SMS, or in person.
Reconstruction and arrangement of several streets and areas in the City, with new pavements and green zones: around the new-constructed building for refugees in local community “Bistrica”; Borislava Pekica street; Vojvode Mirka Petrovica street, Staro Pazarište street; Reconstruction of the main City square was started a few months ago;
