Our main goals is to close down the car traffic in several areas from the Historical Centre of Sibiu. The squares and streets that we want to close down are Huet Square, Small Square, Centumvirilor Street, Arhivelor Street, Schiller Square, Magheru Street and Avram Iancu Street. They will be closed down on September 22nd, from 8 o`clock to 19 o`clock.
also we want to reduce the working program for all the personnel that will come to work by bikecycle, on the same day, with 15 minutes.
If the people of Sibiu will ride the bike, they will enter for free at the Zoo, at the local Baths, at the Gong Theatre and inside ASTRA Open AIr Museum.
Inside the Historical Centre and in others places of Sibiu we will place stands for bike renting for more citizens of Sibiu to be able to ride the bike. As example, we will place such stands on the main pedestrian way, Balcescu Street and also on the closed streets that we mentioned above.
We will encourage the people of Sibiu to take tours of the city. We will decide six or several check points in different neighborhoods of Sibiu. People that will take the tour will take selfies of themselves, post the photos on social sites, like facebook, instagram, etc... with the hashtags #carfreeday and #mobilityweek. In Octomber we will organise a contest between the people that participated to the tour.
All of these will be presented to the local and national media. Spots and banners will be uploaded on our main site pages and on our pages on Facebook. We will encourage that other local institutions to join our project and participated with their own ideas.
