Banja Luka organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2017, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
On 21st and 22nd will be organized monitoring of air quality on location close to main street Kralj Petar I Karađorđević, in order to compare data while there is traffic and where is traffic forbidden for motorized vehicles.

19.9. Children of primary school „Ivan Goran Kovačić“ together with the police and representatives of the City Administration will be distirbuting green balloons with a smiley to the drivers who obey traffic regulations, who fasten their seatbelts and who don't talk on their cell phones. Drivers who do not obey one or both of the rules will get angry red balloon.

Single day ticket for public transport passengers and zero zone for parking of vehicles with a maximum length of two hours of parking in the centre of the city have been instroduced, with an aim to stimulate the use of public transport. Bikeshare system project is underway.

Car-free day Car-free day

Banja Luka carries out a Car-Free Day 2017 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Main activities are:

Main street in city of Banja Luka, Kralj Petar I Karađorđević, will be closed for users of individual motorized vehicles.

In the same time precedent will be given to public transport and cyclists, in order to motivate citizens to use more often public transport and bicycles.

Auto-moto union together with the City will organize traffic polygon for youngest, where they will be able to be informed about traffic rules for pedestrians and cyclists.
