Métropole Aix-Marseille-Provence organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2019, taking into account the annual theme.

16 September
In the cities of Aubagne and La Ciotat, meeting corporate companies to display comprehensive information on all sustainable alternatives to solo car driving from home to work, increase conscience awareness of their leading role into changing collaborators uses and behaviours, promotion of walking and biking as key solutions.
In Aubagne : launching of an app dedicated to all companies of the business area, to build-up interactive communities of same sustainable mobility practices, real time public transports information and car sharing platform. The key approach and use of the app adn communities moderation will be challenges and games. Change in mobility practuces is expected from this gamification.

In the cities of Marseilles (for users public) and in the innovation incubator The Camp in Aix-en-Provence, proper "mobility villages" will be displayed making available all main actors at one same place : public transports stands (authorities, sales network and operators), sustainable and active mobility associations, inclusive mobility and employment integration associations, material and solutions producers, with material testing and games. Co-walking, car-sharing, bike-sharing, scooters and automatised transport innovations will be part of it.

In Aix-en-Provence city center, for users public, proper "mobility village" making all mobility and transports information at one same place : public transports stands (authorities, sales network and operators), inclusive mobility and employment integration associations, material and solutions producers, with material testing and games, scooters testing.

In the city of La Ciotat, proper "mobility village", and simultaneously meeting a key employer company in Aix and Aubagne to display comprehensive information on all sustainable alternatives to solo car driving from home to work, increase conscience awareness of their leading role into changing collaborators uses and behaviours, promotion of walking and biking as key solutions.

One single one public transport ticket will ba vailable throughout the day for free of the whole city bus network, simultaneously in the cities of Aix-en-Provence and Marseilles.

Car-free day Car-free day

Métropole Aix-Marseille-Provence carries out a Car-Free Day 2019 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Main and emblematic down town Avenue La Canebière closer to "le Vieux-Port" side becomes definitely pedestrian (as from Sept. 2nd).
