Press conference with 4 years plan for Sustanaible Mobility in La Laguna and presentation of first phase La Laguna Cycle Network (To be implemented in the next 4 years)

Academic Course about Suistanable Mobility with the La Laguna University
20 September
Bicycle day within Schools and University. Safe routes cycling to different schools and La Laguna University. Press Conference about Pedestrianisation project in the next year.
21 September
Pedestrianisation of one of the major road outside of the city center with activities for the whole population age range during 8 hours: bicycle, street libraries, urban gardens, road education circuit, etc
22 September
Pedestrian routes for different boroughs of La Laguna. Support to Critical Mass bike demostration from the City Hall (reception to their demands)
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
Implementing one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
Permanent measures implemented this year:
New or improved bicycle facilities
  • Improvement of bicycle network (creation of new lanes, extension, renovation, signposting etc)
  • Develop public bicycle hiring and sharing systems
  • Improvement of bicycle facilities (parking, locks etc)
  • Installation of charging points for e-bikes
