Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2019, taking into account the annual theme.

16 September
- Hanging posters, introductory visuals in tram and bus stations, cafeterias, schools, stations etc.
- Display European Mobility Week visuals on billboards and web site banners, digital scrolling system billboards, vinyl banners.
- Social Media Shares to raise awareness on 'safe walking and cycling'.
- Delivering EuropeanMobilityWeek flyers in buses, trams, tram stations, and stands.
- During the EuropeanMobilityWeek professional musicians and volunteers will play various instruments to the passengers' on trams and buses to make the journey pleasant and raise awareness about 'safe walking and cycling'.
- Openning Ceromony will be organised to raise awarness on European Mobility Week.
- A Marching Band will march to give a start to the European Mobility Week.
- A March will take place from Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality to Gaziantep Castle.
- Following the opening speech, 2 citizens will be awarded with a bicycle each whom have used the most public transport and rental bicycle serve the most in September.
- A European Mobiliy Week stand will be set up in 2 shopping centers to give information and raise awarness about European Mobility Week.

Car-free day Car-free day

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality carries out a Car-Free Day 2019 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Between the hours of 08:00 to 20:00. Kamil Ocak Street, Şehit Yusuf Erim Street (which is located in front of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality), the viaduct bridge that connects Şehit Yusuf Erim Street and Atatürk Boulevard will be closed to traffic to celebrate Car- Free Day. In total 1.5 km will be closed to traffic.
