16 September
• Promotion of the use of active modes of transport and public transport for work trips carried by the employees of municipal institutions
• Promotion of Prishtina SUMP Strategies on Pedestrians, Cycling, PT, P+R and Traffic Management and Road Safety – through an exhibition with panels displayed at the City centre “Zahir Pajaziti” Square. The illustrations gave info about the foreseen measures for these travel modes and their benefits. A trained team interacted with citizens, explaining these SUMP strategies to passers-by.
• Movie event at the City’s “Kino Armata” cinema: ‘Speed of Life’ – a movie about sustainable mobility and the story of the main character’s passion for cycling.

• Roundtable discussion on "Walking, cycling and public transport" with municipality representatives and the media. The municipality discussed its plans to enforce its strategies on these modes of transport.

• Creation of a new 1km two-directional bike lane (part of the SUMP Cycling Network) on Zagrebi Street, with horizontal and vertical signage. The 1km is part of a foreseen 6km lane, which once completed will allow connection between the neighbourhoods of Medrese and Kodra e Trimave with the neighbourhoods of Dardania, Lakrishte and the City centre.

• "Riding a bike – a pleasure and a healthy lifestyle" – a demonstrative activity on road safety at the amphitheatre of “Zahir Pajaziti” Square. A polygon was created to simulate public roads and paths along with horizontal and vertical signage. Along with interested citizens, “Qamil Batalli” elementary school pupils participated in the demonstrative activity as well.
21 September

Car free Day
• Creation of a approx. 500 000 square meters Car-Free area from 11:00 to 18:00 in the City centre encircled by streets: Agim Ramadani, UÇK, Migjeni, Luan Hardinaj, Garibaldi and Xhorxh Bush.
• Promotion of Prishtina SUMP Strategies on Pedestrians, Cycling, PT, P+R and Traffic Management and Road Safety – the exhibition moved to NewBorn Square
• Joint Walk
• 7 messages on environment by different local and international leaders, and “The Tree of Wishes”, a presentation of citizens’ requests about the environment (part of KSDW activities)
• Promotional Bike Ride
• Police Unit on Bikes
• Entertainment and socializing at the NewBorn Square
• Movie event at the City’s “Kino Armata” cinema: ‘Trashed’ – an environmental documentary movie

Car-free day Car-free day

Prishtina carries out a Car-Free Day 2019 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
An approx. 500 000 square meters area on 22 September from 11:00 to 18:00 in the City centre encircled by streets: Agim Ramadani, UÇK, Migjeni, Luan Hardinaj, Garibaldi and Xhorxh Bush.
