Car-free day Car-free day

Aberdeen City carries out a Car-Free Day 2019 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
On Sunday the 15th of September, some of the main streets in Aberdeen city centre will be closed to traffic so that a free event called In Town Without My Car Day can take place. The streets that will be closed include; Union Street (between Bridge Street and Market Street), Belmont Street, Little Belmont Street and Gaelic Lane. A wide variety of activities will take place, including; street performers, a climbing wall, the Getabout Bicycle Roadshow, a bicycle stunt show, a treasure hunt, face painting, a zip wire and many more.
