București (Bucharest) organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2022, taking into account the annual theme.

17 September
MOBILITY EXPO
The main players in the public transport sector, are partnering between 17-18 September, to organize an exhibition of clean mobility solutions in King Michael I Park. The event will include interactive sessions to educate the travelling public on transport safety, presentations on mobility projects under development, the facilities offered by the public transport network in terms of accessibility, as well as measures taken to increase the attractiveness of the services offered and to encourage modal shift towards sustainable and active modes of transport. All this will take place in an open environment, giving people the opportunity to interact and share experiences regarding current public transport trends.

GREEN LINE
Creating a public transport route with stops in Bucharest's main parks: King Michael I Park, Tei Park, Alexandru Ioan Cuza Park, Tineretului Park, Izvor Park, Drumul Taberei Park, as well as 3 routes connecting Bucharest to Ilfov County, with stops in the following public attractions: Mogoșoaia Park, Therme, Vlad Țepeș Monastery, Piscu Pottery Museum, Pasărea Monastery, Cernica Monastery. All vehicles on these routes will be branded with European Mobility Week symbols.

OPEN DAY
„Open Day” is an event that encourages the public to discover behind-the-scenes information about public transport operators. The Dudești depot opens its doors to the interested public to present the various tram subassemblies functionalities and offers a tour of the depot in one of the vintage carriages. Participants will be offered several surprises during the event. The Museum of the Bucharest Transport Company will also open its doors to the public, offering a brief insight into the history of public transport in Bucharest through the museum collection consisting of historical pieces, vintage photographs, models, old tickets and many other exhibits.

A JOURNEY THROUGH TIME
Everyone is invited to (re)discover Bucharest in a journey through time with the vintage tram. The journey will take place between 09:00-14:00, departing from the Dudești depot to the Victoria depot, followed by Piața Sf. Gheorghe and back, stopping at each station along the route.

Car-free day Car-free day

București (Bucharest) carries out a Car-Free Day 2022 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The Open Streets project, organized by the Bucharest City Hall takes place over several weekends from April 30 to October 16 2022 and involves the temporary establishment of five pedestrian areas in the central area of the city. During the European Mobility Week, in the 17-18 September weekend, Calea Victoriei, a major avenue in central Bucharest will be temporary closed to car traffic, as part of the Open Streets project.
