Tripolis organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2022, taking into account the annual theme.

16 September
Cycling action for the remembrance of 100 years from the Asia Minor Catastrophe - connecting the past with the present
The cycling branch of sports team AEK Tripolis will start off from Areos Square and will cycle through central streets of Tripolis until Filikon Square where a concert will be organised at 21:00 by the Municipality of Tripolis in the occasion of 100 years since the Asia Minor Catastrophe.
17 September
Cycling action for the remembrance of 100 years from the Asia Minor Catastrophe - connecting the past with the present (Vol. 2)
The Municipality of Tripolis in collaboration with EOS (Hellenic Climbing Association) and bike groups of the city organise a cycling tour for everybody (owners of mountain bikes and any other type of bike) that will start from village Kardaras, will cross village Simiades and will end up at Kapsia Caves. Bikers will be welcomed and guided in the caves by municipal employees.

Actions for landscape restructuring
Street Moves: A set of street furniture will be mounted in a central parking lot of the city. The set is designed to fit the dimensions of a standard parking lot and built with resistant decks made of pine tree or pallets. The set will be placed on the level of the kerbside and will include a pilar with solar panel for e-vehicle charging.
The furniture sets may be placed and moved around to central areas of Municipal Communities throughout the EMW. In the frame of this action, a concert will be organised by groups of young people from the Music School and Conservatories of the city.
18 September
Bike connections
SCE “ΤΕΧΝΗS POH” will hold a two-hour-long action with interactive games and constructions for children and parents in Petrinou Square around the theme of “biking”. With this action, we aim to raise awareness among citizens about the use of alternative means of transport.
19 September
Moving around with empathy
The Association of People with Disabilities in collaboration with the Municipality of Tripolis will hold an open debate at Petrinou Square during which people with movement and vision disabilities will talk about the difficulties they come across in their daily travels when fellow-citizens do not comply with traffic rules.
20 September
I walk to school
Secondary school students of the Municipality of Tripolis will walk to school, instead of being driven by car, and will write down problems and dangers that they encounter on their way. A debate will follow in the classroom and they will suggest solutions (e.g. how to have a safer travel to school) which schools will include in an official document. The representatives of the 15-member school council will walk to the Town Hall to submit their proposals and have a discussion with the Mayor of Tripolis.
21 September
Exercise and the environment
Gym owners of the city will present the advantages of aerobic exercise through a 10-minute-long interactive dance and work-out programme (one per gym) for beginners of all ages at the Agios Georgios Park. Both gym members and non-gym members will have access to the activities.
22 September
Car-free day
At a car-free day, we encourage citizens of Tripolis to walk, bike or use their e-vehicle (bike or skateboard) around the city instead of driving a car. A variety of small-scale actions (mini-actions) will take place in different neighbourhoods and central locations of the city where the streets will be closed.
