Target group(s): Students, young researchers, professional, policy makers, general public
Objectives: The Project aims to support general and scientific knowledge increase related to EU policy opportunities and effects spreading among society. The EU has been going ahead in defining and implementing several policies towards the environment, cultural development, economic growth, social development etc. Huge amounts of funds have been allocated in those policies, massive communications efforts have been carried out by the EU institutions and national governments to make citizens aware about those opportunities but people’s acquaintance with those issues still remains inadequate. Indeed, according to recent studies at least 30% of respondents in Italy say they don’t know anything at all about EU new policies. This means that many of them cannot benefit from and, at the same time, these people can be attracted by populist and anti-EU messages which claim for an “EU inadequateness” or worst. For these reasons, the Project, through some teaching and research activities mixing experts in the field of environmental, economic and social sustainability, EU law experts and representatives of some good practice experience will give to students, public servants and general public theoretical and, in some cases, practical instruments to have a better knowledge about opportunities and experiences related to EU sustainability policies both in academic and practical ways.
