Detailed description (English): The project began 2016 with the professional advice of “En Bici por la Movilidad Empresas” (EBxM) in the three cities where Liberty has its headquarters: Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao.
By Bike to Work, it is supported at the cultural level within the organization from its own direction and consists of economic incentives and facilities to promote and facilitate the use of the bicycle.
These incentives and tools include:
• Economic incentive: Payment of € 0.45 for every kilometer traveled from home to work (after tax charges € 0.37 / Km). The accounting of the kilometers traveled is done by delivering the employees a mileage note.
• Theoretical classes on road safety and the elimination of barriers and myths about the use of the bicycle as a means of urban transport.
• Practical accompaniment classes to show the best adapted routes.
• Spaces enabled to store bicycles in the company.
• Enabling showers in offices and changing rooms to be able to change after cycling.
• Fleet of loan bicycles, electric bicycles and folding bicycles for employees to try it for several days and to favor intermodality (combine bicycle transport with public transport in different cities)
• Mechanical training workshops
Detailed description (original language): El proyecto se inició en 2016 con el asesoramiento profesional de “En Bici por la Movilidad de las Empresas” (EBxM) en las tres ciudades donde Liberty tiene ubicadas sus sedes: Madrid, Barcelona y Bilbao.
En Bici al Trabajo es apoyado a nivel cultural dentro de la organización desde la propia dirección y consta de incentivos económicos y de instalaciones para promocionar y facilitar el uso de la bicicleta.
Entre esos incentivos y herramientas destacan:
•Incentivo económico: Pago de 0,45€ por cada kilómetro recorrido de casa al trabajo (tras cargas fiscales 0,37€/Km). La contabilidad de los kilómetros recorridos se realiza mediante la entrega de los empleados de una nota de kilometraje.
•Clases teóricas sobre seguridad vial y de eliminación de barreras y mitos acerca de la utilización de la bicicleta como medio de transporte urbano.
•Clases prácticas de acompañamiento para mostrar las mejores rutas adaptadas.
•Espacios habilitados para guardar las bicicletas en la compañía.
•Habilitación de duchas en las oficinas y vestuarios para poder cambiarse tras el recorrido en bicicleta.
•Flota de bicicletas de préstamo, bicicletas eléctricas y plegables para empleados para que la prueben durante varios días y para favorecer la intermodalidad (combinar el transporte en bicicleta con el transporte público de las distintas ciudades)
•Talleres de formación mecánica

Help employees replace the car with the bicycle or intermadality to go to work
Expected Outcomes: On a quantitative level, 10% of the insurer's employees have already benefited from the program and perceive it as a very positive strategy on the part of their Company, increasing their pride of belonging to it. The total cost of the action has meant a compensation of € 61,578 to the users of the service.
Since May 2016, when the initiative is implemented, until today, 166,427 km have been traveled, which has meant a saving of approximately 31.6 tons in CO2 emissions, understanding that the people who used the service, before use their cars to go to the office.
We have also managed to reach the media:
• Total impacts (2016-2018) - 143 impacts
• Advertising valuation: 1,060,840 euros
• Editorial rating: 2,652,100 euros
• 11 meetings with different public administration entities related to mobility and environment.
